1/4/07

As expected, Week 5 produced the largest field of the year to date as SIXTEEN racers came out to fight for a win. 6 of them have not raced MTGDT 3. The Racers were:

Points Leader Alex Vester
2nd in points Jordon Robson
First Timer Mike Alston
First Timer Jordan Holland
First Timer David Cooley
First Timer Chris Kaelin
First Timer Robbie Williams
First Timer Josh Rhodes
Will Collins
Kyle Seden
Daniel Perry
Dave Collard
Jack Hall
Alex Pecorelli
Daniel Sommerfield
Scott Bergman

They made sure to make the last event in the RCA Dome a memorable one, too. The top qualifyer was Dave Collard, Jordon Robson came in 2nd, and Alex Vester 3rd. Racing was tough, and saw all the big names flying into the next round. 12 remained, but only 6 could go to the big beatdown. Those 6 were Alex Vester, Chris Kaelin, Jordon Robson, Kyle Seden, Josh Rhodes, and Alex Pecorelli. Both Alexes and Jordon have been in almost every single semi finals all season, and this was no different. Jordon took an impressive win over Chris Kaelin, Alex Vester over Kyle Seden, and Josh Rhodes took a win as Alex Pecorelli messed his run up. However, Alex blasted his way into the semis taking out Chris Kaelin as the fast loser. Jordon had to YET AGAIN face his arch rival Alex Pecorelli. He beat him once earlier this year, and in a very good race, he did it again. Alex Vester took a win over Rhodes to set up the final matchup we've seen once already this season. The result was the same as Alex went just a little too wide allowing Jordon to make up the ground to win by less than a tire. Jordon yet again pulls out a win this season.

Now it was time for the crowd's favorite part... Freestyle! Many racers came out with great runs. The scores were as follows...

Will Collins - 16
David Cooley - 20
Alex Pecorelli - 20
Dave Collard - 21
Jack Hall - 21
Daniel Sommerfield - 21
Mike Alston - 24
Robbie Williams - 24
Daniel Perry - 24
Josh Rhodes - 24
Scott Bergman - 24
Jordon Robson - 25
Alex Vester - 27
Jordan Holland - 27
Kyle Seden - 27
...
And your 2008 RCA Dome Freestyle Winner...
Chris Kaelin with a 28! He had a spectacular run and took a well-deserved win.

It was an amazing week of action here in the RCA Dome. We will now bid it farewell to not be raced again. Next week, MTGDT invades Providence, Rhode Island at the Providence Civic Center for some down and dirty Classic Series action! Be there!

aight guys, glad to see this many people coming out now. it was a great turnout with some great racing and freestyle. next week is Providence, RI 1992 by DiggerFan. It will be ran as a turning course, i will explain that later. I'll have points done either tonight or tomorrow night when i get a chance. see ya'll next week!

12/28/07

Las Vegas Super Stadium got one heck of a show on Friday night. 8 of the most powerful racers came out to tear up the track. These included first-timers Dave Collard and Kyle Seden, along with points leader Alex Vester, and other drivers were Jack Hall, Kevin Milloy, Timmy Smith, Jordon Robson, and Will Collins. Heat 1 involved Alex Vester, Jack Hall, Kyle Seden, and Kevin Milloy. Racing wasn't even close as Alex Vester blew the competition away. The other 3 racers had a fun time competing for spot 2, however. In the end, Kevin Milloy pulled ahead to take spot 2. Heat 2 involved the rest, Dave Collard, Timmy Smith, Jordon Robson, and Will Collins. It was all Collard and Smith, and Smith irked out 1st place, but Dave still advanced to the finals. Now it was time for the endurance heat. I have never seen such close racing in my many years of circuit racing. Jordon Robson and Kyle Seden traded 1st place more than 12 times in only an 8 lap race! Because of the generousity of MTGDT 3 officials, both would advance to the final game because of tremendous efforts, despite Kyle barely pulling out 1st place.

It was time for the final heat. Everyone came out smashing, bashing, and crashing. The line became more single-file as Timmy and Dave tore out in front. Jordon sat well in 3rd and Milloy was in 4th with Seden in 5th. The fastest person of the night was surprisingly last for much of the race. Alex Vester just couldn't seem to find the passing lanes. But in the last 3 laps, Alex tore from 6th to 3rd with some of the most beautiful laps of the night. In the very last lap, Vester comes out of NOWHERE to overtake Dave. His target was now Timmy Smith. Coming into the last checkpoint, Vester took the lead! He was heading for the finish line, but sadly crashed into the wall handing the win to Smith. Unfortunately, he also wasn't able to get out before Collard came flying across the line as well in 2nd place. Vester took 3rd, Jordon took 4th, Seden took 5th, and Milloy took 6th.

Next week, MTGDT 3 will rock Indianapolis, Indiana inside the RCA Dome for what is expected to be the biggest event of the year to date. The house will be full undoubtedly, and we can expect to see some of the best racing and freestyling of the year. Also, stay tuned for a special announcement from the MTGDT 3 crew!

alright, glad to see circuits becoming a little more popular, everyone said they had a great time. Some of the most amazing circuit racing i've ever witnessed, i've got to say. points will be up in a matter of minutes, so just hold tight. Next week is RCA Dome 07 by White. Also, keep your eyes peeled in the general forum for information on a huge special event for MTGDT 3.

p.s. no i didn't forget, everyone who raced is still recieving 10 extra circuit points which will be rolled into your overall points.

12/21/07

The Pontiac Silverdome was alive last night as 9 of the best racers came out to tear up this track. Points leader Alex Vester looked to further increase his lead, but Alex Pecorelli looked to close the gap. But it was Jordon Robson who appeared to have shot out of a cannon. He pulled fast qualifyer with the only sub-15 second run of the night scoring himself an extra 10 points. The first round saw Jack Hall coming out with a surprising bye run. Alex Vester took out Alex Pecorelli in round one after Pecor had a terrible qualifying run. First timer Nate Geist took out first timer Elliot in a good race. Jordon Robson took out Daniel Sommerfield, and Mike Elmendorf took out Scott Bergman. Round 2 saw Alex Vester taking out Nate Geist, and Alex Pecorelli took out Jack Hall. It was down to the final 4. Jordon was facing the guy he can never seem to beat, Alex Pecorelli... They have faced numerous other times, and it always seemed almost as if Jordon was cursed. Alex was driving tired, and many people would say that was the reason why Jordon walked out with a win. But Jordon drove better, and that's all there is to it. In the other race, Alex Vester took out Mike Elmendorf in a not-so-close race. And now it was down to the two best friends and teammates, Jordon Robson and Alex Vester. This was sure to be a very good race, and a very good race it was. Coming out of the turn, they were dead even. But Alex made the crucial mistake... he did not get both front tires on the ramp handing the win to Jordon, though he probably would have lost anyways. Jordon, after much scrutinization, had finally silenced his critics and tucked a win under his belt. He celebrated with flare, and parked himself in the Winner's Area.

Jordon celebrating his win.

Next week, the MTGDT travels to Sin City. No, not to gain some extra money, but for some circuit action! Las Vegas Super Stadium will be rocked by the pulsepounding action of the Circuit Series! That's right folks, it's time for Las Vegas Supercross! Racing will be tight, and now that NESTA is over, we will also be accumulating some of the NASCAR drivers into the series, so we can expect some of the best racing of the year.

Also, the MTGDT would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, and as a special kinda late gift, everyone that races next Friday will recieve an extra 10 Circuit points, which will also be added onto their Overall total. We hope to see everyone out next week!

Aight guys, glad to see things going well so far. yeah, next week, 10 points extra for everyone that shows up (and attempts to race). You can't show up in the chat room, and then leave. That won't get you points. Now, if you have a connection problem and cannot race, i may or may not let you have the points, depending upon who you are. If it's someone that has had connection problems in the past, such as DF or Sean, you will get the points anyways. I'll do points here soon, should be up within 20 minutes. See ya'll next week!

12/14/07

Crazy Parks and Recreation Area was ready for the show, and that's exactly what they got. 10 racers came out to take home the first circuit title of the season. Last season's surprise, Timmy Smith came out looking to strike, along with big names such as Alex Vester and Kevin Milloy. Other notable racers included Will Collins, David Markunas, and Ryan Smith. The first 5 onto the track were Kevin Milloy, Will Collins, Jack, David Markunas, and Ryan Smith. There were some battles, but in the end, Kevin Milloy and David Markunas would advance to the Final Battle. The next 5 out were Alex Vester, John Brown, Sean Kozak, Timmy Smith, and Mike Elmendorf. Sean had some unfortunate mechanical problems and was forced to withdraw from the event. The other 4 battled it out with Alex keeping a close tail to Timmy all 8 laps. Both of them would advance to the Final Battle. Now it was time for the endurance race. The losers would all compete in 15 laps to determine the final spot in the Final Battle. Ryan Smith off the start annihilated everyone. Unfortunately, John Brown had a problem and the race had to be reset. To be fair, Ryan was given his lead back for the first lap, but wrecked handing it to Jack. From there on out, Jack and Will battled for the top spot for 13 laps. But Ryan fought from the back of the pack and it was a 3 way battle for first place. But in the end, Ryan wrecked, and Jack passed Will across the finish line to advance to the Final Battle. It all came down to this. 5 drivers, 10 laps, 1 winner. Coming out of the gates early was Timmy Smith and Alex Vester. They were dead even for a couple laps, but Timmy appeared to have gone off course handing it to Vester who went on to win by a huge margin. Timmy did come back for 2nd place, Kevin Milloy in 3rd, Jack in 4th, and David Markunas in 5th. However, it appeared that Timmy had some difficulties that were caused by some outside force that the MTGDT crew is still unaware of. Therefore, 5 laps, Vester and Smith for the win. Smith got the lead early and never gave it away. Timothy Smith is your winner for week 2 of MTGDT 3!

The primitive schedule for MTGDT 3 is being reworked by the head official, therefore the next week's track is unknown as of yet, but it has been announced that it will be the first Classic race of the season! Hopefully we'll see everyone there. The head official did say that point standings will be updated before Monday, as will week 3's track!

Alright, thanks everyone who came out. There were some definate problems, especially between mine and David's connection. RNS was pretty much cheated out of points he should have had and will recieve 25 points for his efforts because they WERE deserved. Sean will recieve points for showing up even though he did not race. I'm gonna do points tonight and rework the schedule tonight, so be on the look out.

12/7/07

MTGDT 3 opened up with a bang. 10 racers came out to prove their worth in the new season. The seats were packed and there wasn't a single ticket left available. Remington Fairgrounds was rocking as the racers entered for qualifying. Unfortunately, David Geko had problems and was unable to participate throughout the night. The times were close, but in the end, Alex Vester brought out Vengeance 3 to take the top time at 16.92 a mere 2 hundreths of a second above Alex Pecorelli who had a 16.94. That good fortune continued for Vester in the first rond with a win over his teammate and friend, Jordon Robinson. Alex Pecorelli took out Jack, Mike Elmendorf had a bye run, Daniel Sommerfeld took out William Collins, and Kevin Kaffenberger, racing sober for the first time in a long time, took out Ryan McCauley. Ryan's time was good enough to be brought back into the next round where he got his revenge by taking out Mike Elmendorf. Kevin stood his ground against Daniel to advance to the semis. Vester looked like he had an easy match against Ryan, but he was sadly mistaken as he jumped the gun early and virtually handed it to Ryan who advanced to the finals. Pecorelli came out and took out Kevin. Now it was finals time... The Pecored Flags were out yet again hoping that Pecorelli could come out with a win. Ryan's RII disfunctioned causing Alex's beautiful run to be wiped off the board for a rerun. Sadly for Ryan, he cut the last pole too close and Alex walked away with a win. The crowd erupted in a satisfied chant for Pecorelli as he took a victory lap in that beautiful Temperamental Dodge to celebrate.

And now it was time for freestyle. The objects towered above the crowd and trucks like skyscrapers. Runs were consistant as Ryan and Kevin both pulled out solid runs with 24s. Mike had a 23 while Daniel flipped too early and had a 22. Jack had a really good run and filled the clock and came away with a 26. Now it was time for the big guns. Out came Jordon Robinson. This rookie has impressed many people out there, and his freestyle did the same. He came out hard, pushing his truck to its limits. He filled the clock and came out with a 26. 3 more remained. William Collins came out and blasted the track, making his truck do things once thought impossible. Despite flipping a little early, he came out with a 28. The only people left were the 2 Alexes. Pecorelli was first. He came out and put up a very solid run, but it wasn't as exciting as the crowd wanted, only pulling a 27. One man remained; Alex Vester in the Vengeance 3 machine. His run was mediocre at best, but the intensity increased towards the end. The crowd didn't think it was enough, and he fell to a 27 as well. William Collins walked away with the freestyle win, and you could tell how ecstatic he was as he came out for an encore. He finished off the night with a pose on top of the huge dumpster.

The fans got up and left as the racers did the same. The sun had long since set on Remington Fairgrounds, and everyone left, satisfied. Preparations for next Friday begin now as drivers must prepare for the unknown surprise. The track and series is still To Be Announced at the time, but is sure to be announced as soon as 1st week points standings come out before Monday. The fans and drivers alike will prepare for week 2 of MTGDT 3.

Alright guys, thanks to everyone who came out, i hope ya'll had fun, i know i did. Points will be done before Monday, maybe even tonight. I will announce the series and the track for next week when i release points. See ya'll then!

11/30/07

MTGDT 3 held it's first and only preseason race tonight. 8 People came out, but David decided not to race. We crammed all 7 in one game and got going in Arnhem. Qualifying was split by less than 6 seconds (other than a DQ) and the top 3 qualifyers were within half a second. Runt came away with the top qualifying spot with Buddy coming in 2nd, Kev in 3rd, Mike 4th, Dig 5th, Bandit 6th, and Train disqualified.

Racing went down quickly and easily. Runt had a first round bye, Buddy took out Train, Kev took out Bandit, and Mike took out Dig. Runt took out Mike in a WILD race. Runt spun out in one of the turns, but Mike poled, one tired, AND missed the last set of cars, handing it to Runt, even though he had it won. Buddy won a close race over Kev to advance to the finals to race Runt.

Here it was, Runt coming back to his first MJ event and didn't skip a beat meeting one of his prodigies in the finals. Buddy had grown a lot since that little noob that Runt helped out a bit, and the race proved to be just like all their other ones... Extremely close. But, Runt came away with the win by about a tire length. Celebration was in order...

Runt posing after his racing win.

Now it was time for Freestyle, the fans' favorite part. It kicked off with Train who flipped quickly and came away with an 11. Bandit wasn't much more impressive, flipping early with a 14. Then here comes Mr. Josh Rhodes. Dig comes out and lays down a very good run, flipping slightly before time was up and earning a 26. Mike comes out and has an average run coming away with a 22. Here comes Kevin Payne, known for great freestyles. He had a pretty good run, but flipped too early and came away with a 24. Dig was still on top with two guys left. Alex Pecorelli comes out and the Pecored flags were waving throughout the stands. Sadly, he flipped a little too early and could only pull out a 23. Runt was last, and he had his mind set on a sweep. He had to beat a 26, and he had a chance of doing it too. His run was very strong, but just couldn't quite pull it off in the end, flipping with almost 30 seconds left. The scores came in and he only came away with a 25. Dig put yet another freestyle win under his belt, and he definately deserved it. He celebrated by taking a gigantic leap in the air...

Dig taking a huge leap after winning FS.

Everyone seemed to have a great time, and the MTGDT 3 crew will be looking for a big turnout next Friday. The track will be changed, they just don't know what to yet. Thanks everyone for coming out, and we hope you enjoyed it!
